Recognized as “one of the greatest interpreters of Miles Davis' work in Canada” (Hamilton Spectator), multi award-winning trumpet iconoclast Brownman Ali leads a powerful tribute to a pivotal era in jazz history.

From 1951 to 1956, Davis recorded a string of groundbreaking albums for Prestige Records — Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’, and Steamin’ — blending bebop virtuosity with a cool, lyrical sensibility that reshaped modern jazz.

Joined by a hand-picked ensemble of Toronto’s finest, Brownman and company channel the fire, elegance, and innovation of Miles’ early genius in this unmissable two-set performance.

Modeled after the legendary New York Latin-jazz sound of Jerry González & The Fort Apache Band, this powerhouse group features some of Toronto’s most acclaimed jazz and Latin music specialists.

At the helm is Brownman Ali — 2x National Jazz Award-winning trumpeter and leader of the renowned Latin-jazz collective CRUZAO (winners of the Montreal Jazz Festival’s Grand Prix du Jazz Award).
